A focus on prevention, a solution of integrated health for back pain

Despite the amount of resources dedicated to the treatment of low back pain, the amount of sufferers continue to increase. The Lancet has summarized the evidence for medical interventions in back pain, and found that the most-prescribed treatments for back pain consist of medication (both opioids and injections), imaging and surgery. The article expresses the need for prevention to be a priority, rather than focusing resources on treatment and management. 

However, there is little prevention research that exists, and evidence for it mainly comes from adults in high-income countries, which means limitations exist for children, or those in low- or middle-income countries.
