Alomune daily immune supplements have been shown in clinical trials to help improve the body’s natural defenses for optimized immune health, according to its manufacturer Lonza.
The active ingredient in Alomune is proprietary ResistAid made with larch arabinogalactan (LAG), a safe, natural extract sourced from renewable Minnesota Larch trees. LAG is generally recognized as safe for consumption as a food and dietary ingredient and, according to the National Institutes of Health, is an excellent source of dietary fibre.
LAG also supports the immune system in two different ways: by improving
the innate immune response, which is with us from birth; and by
improving the adaptive immune response, which is built over time and
affected by exposure to various immune challenges presented by the
environments that we live in. LAG also helps to support the body’s own
friendly bacteria in the digestive tract, which makes up 70 per cent of
our immune system.
In a double-blind placebo-controlled clinical
trial involving 204 healthy adults, those taking Alomune were 57 per
cent more likely to stay healthy than those taking the placebo based on a
primary immune health outcome.
Alomune was awarded the Good
Housekeeping Seal upon evaluation by the Good Housekeeping Research
Institute. Of the more than 25,000 dietary supplements sold in the U.S.,
fewer than 10 are backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal, and Alomune is
the only immune supplement to receive this credential, the company said.
Alomune
daily immune supplements are available in chocolate chewable tablets
and berry stick packs for mixing into water and other beverages. A
10-day supply is suggested to retail for $9.99. Beginning in October
2013, Alomune supplements will be available at super centers and drug
stores, including CVS and Walmart.
