Dec. 22, Barrie, Ont. – In March 2011, Girls, Gals and Gurus, will welcome General Becky Halstead who will present, along with other featured speakers, at two events showcasing visionary leadership, wellness and empowerment.

Dec. 22, Barrie, Ont. – In March 2011, Girls, Gals and Gurus, will welcome General Becky Halstead who will present, along with other featured speakers, at two events showcasing visionary leadership, wellness and empowerment.

The first event, titled Visionary Leadership – An evening with General Becky Halstead, will be held on March 1, 2011 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Community leaders and those interested in thought leadership are invited to attend.

(Ret.) General Halstead is an outspoken advocate for chiropractic and is also committed to delivering effective leadership skills to organizations across all professional sectors. Retired in 2008 with over 27 years in service with the U.S. Army, she graduated from West Point in the second class, at that institution, allowing women. Becky was the first female graduate of West Point to be promoted to General Officer. She was the Senior Commanding General in logistics in Iraq, and was the first female in U.S. history to command in combat at the strategic level. General Halstead was responsible for leading over 200 multi-disciplined units (20,000 military and 5,000 civilians) located across 55 different bases providing supply, maintenance, transportation and support to over 250,000 personnel serving in Iraq. She has been responsible for the leader development and institutional training for the second largest branch in the army with over 100,000 members of the Ordinance Corps. She will be sharing her humbling stories and strategic application of experience and has provided invaluable services to the public sector in developing new leaders, team cohesion and improving training programs.

On March 2, 2011, Girls, Gals and Gurus will be presenting a new installment in the Energize, Engage, Empower Speaker Series. The day-long seminar event will feature Drs. Liz Anderson-Peacock and Carol Ann Malizia, as well as General Halstead and business coach and author Christine Kloser. The presenters will consider why change is so difficult and understanding how to make changes stick; how to align, expand and succeed in business; learning to lead yourself before you can lead others, and more.
