Feb.  8, Wiarton, ON – On Thursday, February 11,
2010, the Wiarton Family Chiropractic Centre is presenting the 14th H.O.P.E.
Day, their annual food drive held in conjunction with the Wiarton Salvation
Army Food Bank.

H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat) allows the community a way to help others
while helping themselves.  Developed by Dr. Raelynn Cancel in 1996, this
yearly food drive has brought in over 26,734 pounds of food for the local food bank
since its inception.  That is the weight of 12 Volkswagen Beetles, four
full-sized Hummers or a fully loaded school bus!

While
donations for most food banks peak at Christmas, the demand for their services
peaks in February.  As a result, food banks all over Ontario have difficulty keeping pace with
the needs of their communities.  It is times like these that small towns
pull together.

With
this vital need and the sentiments of Valentines Day in mind, The Wiarton
Family Chiropractic Centre will be hosting their annual "food-raiser"
in an attempt to fill the void in the Wiarton food bank.   Anyone who
brings a few bags of groceries to the Brown
Street clinic on that day will receive a gift
certificate endorsed by the Salvation Army that can be used to cover the usual
fees necessary for a complete, one hour new patient assessment at the clinic in
Wiarton.

Each day, more and more people are exploring chiropractic as
a means of achieving wellness in their lives.  This reflects the focus
that chiropractors have for creating significant improvements in overall health
by addressing cause, not effect.  This functional approach gives people
safe options to address a myriad of health concerns, and the "fees for
food" concept is a no-obligation opportunity to explore, for themselves,
the potential benefits that chiropractic wellness care can offer them.

Generosity
will allow our local Food Bank to continue their fine community service, which
helps many young families and seasonal workers make it through the leaner
months of the winter.  Helping others while helping yourself…it's a good
thing.
