November 2010 – Vitality Depot announces the launch of their two new portable electrotherapy units, the Vitality Innovations StimTec4 and the StimTec2. These portable units can be used by chiropractors in their clinics, or on the road, and are affordable enough for patients to bring home.

While many Canadian DC’s offer TENS therapy to patients to safely augment their treatment of various types of nerve related pain, in Canada the advantages of EMS, Microcurrent and Interferential are often overlooked.

EMS offers relief of muscle spasms and/or pain and helps patients exercise specific muscles when convntional exercise cannot be carried out, for example, after serious injuries or surgeries.

Interferential therapy uses two medium frequency currents that are crossed to augment the power of each individual channel. This allows for more pain relieving power without the painful side effects that can sometimes occur on the skin from using full power on a standard TENS or EMS unit.

Microcurrent therapy uses an extremely low current which usually can not be felt at all (unlike the other three modalities). It is used mainly to stimulate healing in a particular area, since its output is similar to what the body produces naturally.

The StimTec4 offers all four of these electrotherapies in one device. If only TENS and EMS are required, the less expensive StimTec2 is an excellent choice.

Both units have been independently clinic tested for optimal and easy programming and offer a digital interface with dual channels and automatically counted down treatment time. Each unit includes a carry case, 9V battery, four electrodes, and bilingual user manual and comes with a one year warranty. An optional AC adapter is also available. The units are Health Canada licensed.

The new Vitality Innovations StimTec line offers electrotherapy in a sleek and portable unit at a price both DCs and patients can afford. Chiropractors can purchase a box of six units and the box becomes a free counter-top display.
