Jan. 24, Cornwall, ON – Dr. Paul Poirier invites DCs, their staff, family, patients and friends to gear up for the second annual Bikers Against Brain Cancer motorcycle ride fundraiser.

Dr. Poirier has been living with brain cancer for a number of years and held his first ride in Cornwall last year. He and 50 enthusiastic participants were able to raise over $3000 for brain cancer research.

Poirier has scheduled a second ride in 2011 for the Cornwall area  – it will be held on June 18 – and has also added another ride to be held in Montreal later in the year.  But, he does not plan to stop there!  Poirier has received interest for more rides from Missisauga, Ottawa and a number of other municipalities in Canada and the US.  His vision is to take the mission from sea to sea on both sides of the border with the intent of increasing awareness for brain cancer while raising as much money as possible toward research and services that will benefit patients and their families who live with the condition.

Proceeds from the Cornwall and Montreal rides will be going to the Montreal Neurological Institute – where Dr. Poirier has received treatment – and money raised from other rides will go directly to the Brain Tumour Foundation, an organization that was created by the surgeon who excised Poirier’s first lesion.

To become involved in an already scheduled ride – or to set up a ride in your own municipality or region – please contact Dr. Poirier directly at Earthway Family Chiropractic clinic in Cornwall by phoning 613-936-1386 or email him at info@drpaulpoirier.com.
