The program comprises three online
courses, including one by renowned massage marketing/business expert Cherie
Sohnen-Moe on how instructors can market themselves as a CIPI. The
certification process concludes with a live, hands-on weekend workshop.
The first live workshops will be held in Corona,
California (at Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa) on
November 13-14, 2010 and in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida
on February 12-13, 2011. The entire certification provides 50 CEUs.(Please check with your local jurisdiction for details.)  Canadian registrants will be charged in CDN dollars, at par with US fees.

According to Lauriann Greene, CIPI
Program Director and one of the foremost experts on injury prevention for
manual therapists, “Seventy seven percent of manual therapists and bodyworkers
report symptoms or injury as a result of their work. But these injuries can be
prevented. There’s a great need for more capable instructors to teach
effective, proven methods and tips to prevent injury. By becoming certified,
chiropractors and other manual therapists can help other therapists to protect
and prolong their careers while creating an additional income stream and saving
their own hands.”

CIPI graduates get ongoing support
with tools from the saveyourhands.com  web site, including an
online directory that potential employers use to locate CIPIs, a forum to
communicate with other CIPI’s, and access to Save Your Hands!® co-authors and
expert instructors Lauriann Greene and Rick Goggins for questions and advice.

Schools
and clinics benefit from training a CIPI

For schools, the program provides a
way to train an instructor to incorporate effective injury prevention information
into the school’s core curriculum and continuing education program.

For clinics, the CIPI program can
provide an in-house injury prevention trainer to help reduce workers' comp
claims, turnover and absenteeism among treatment staff.

Instructors can also work with RMTs
and other manual specialists in spas to help these businesses reduce the number
of sick days and time lost due to practitioner injury.
